I had three separate compost bins 4 years ago, and have been working on an open pile since then too. Now I have loads of fantastic compost ready for the year. Check on the organic gold:
This is rich, sweet smelling goodness made mostly from grass clippings, dry leaves, wood bark and kitchen scraps. We’re making more in earnest now. Here’s my little helper shoveling some nearly-ready compost from one of the old bins into the grass clipping pile so we can consolidate while we tidy up the yard for our new garden.
